Martini candle glasses can be reused for cocktails or candle-making (now that you’re an expert) 😉 The only question is “How???”

Here are my step-by-step instructions on making that glass sparkly new.

1) Remove wax. If unable to scoop it out in a large chunk as in the video, try heating your glass in the microwave in short intervals (say 15-30 seconds). BE CAREFUL when taking out of the microwave as the stem will be 🔥.

From there you will be able to easier scoop the wax out. It is best practice let it the minor wax residue fully cool after large wax removal before continuing this process (cooled wax is easier to work with than liquid wax).

2) Use a degreaser such as Dawn dish soap to cut the greasy wax residue. Ideally also add Isopropyl alchohol—also a degreaser. The grease from the wax is your biggest enemy in this battle, so if using other products make sure to use degreasing ones— for example hand soap won’t work but dish detergent will.

3) Add warm water to the soap and alcohol and let it sit for 5 min to 24 hours.

4) Use a paper towel to wipe out any leftover wax and repeat the process as necessary, using a sponge with a rough side if needed for removal of the last bits of wax residue.

5) Lastly, if you still have sticker residue, remove the residue by letting it soak in soapy water overnight + then scrubbing it, or simply by using Goo Gone.

6) Give it a final wash (throw it in the dishwasher if you got one!) and pour some bubbly in that baby! Cheers!

While the Dirty Filthy is our most popular candle, we don’t made anything similar in class because quite frankly it’s a pain in the a$$ and unlike soy there’s very little room for mistakes. And unlike these polymer clay olives, the soy olives used in classes are able to be put in more spots on a finished design.

Anyhoo, the olives being made is a little more entertaining, so I hope you enjoy!

This week I also played around with my new blackberry mold…(see left) but I am still working on color-matching. It’s tough to get that deep, deep purple/blue. Im going to have to pull out the big guns to get this right, but I will!
