Perks of Staying in Mount Pleasant
PROS:
Central location between downtown and the Charleston beaches.
A quite, safe suburban area.
Air B and Bs are less pricey than in the Downtown area and on the Beaches.
CONS:
You will need to drive or take Ubers to most major attractions, so plan your days accordingly.
GOOD TO KNOW:
Unless your group is dead-set on spending time in the Downtown area, you can do an entire bachelorette weekend in Mount Pleasant and the beaches nearby.
This is something to especially consider in the HOT months of the year (July + August) as Downtown is especially warm whereas the suburbs and beach areas are more breezy +and temperate.
South Mount Pleasant is centrally located, North Mount Pleasant is not. See the map below for these general areas.

Avoid North Mount Pleasant when booking your lodging.
THINGS TO DO
Enjoy the beach at Sullivan's Island or Isle of Palms (IOP), including concerts at The Windjammer.
Enjoy boating, drinks, food, and music at Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant.
Have experiences COME TO YOU such as Hibachi Cooking or candle classes.
Travel to the Downtown Area to explore Charleston's signature historic charm, restaurants, nightlife.
BEACHES
If you're looking for a blend of upscale homes and casual restaurants, Isle of Palms (IOP) or Sullivan's Island are great options from Mount Pleasant.
A little more upscale and lowkey on the party scene than Folly Beach, Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island has some of the best Charleston beaches.
Good to Know:
Isle of Palms has a great beachfront area with spots such as the Windjammer for nights out, whereas Sullivan's Island is a little more quiet and laidback.
Parking can be a challenge at all of Charleston's beaches (all the better reason to Uber!).
IOP FOOD RECS:
LUNCH:
Coconut Joes: A classic, casual food spot on the beach.

DINNER:
Islander 71: A more dressy restaurant on the waterway with epic views.
SULLIVAN'S FOOD RECS:
BREAKFAST
The Co-op is great for grab-and-go beach sandwiches, iced coffee, and their famous (+ hangover-curing!!) Froze.
LUNCH:
Mex1: this Baja-inspired beach bar serves up highly-rated coastal tacos (like the Baja fish taco), fresh-squeezed margaritas, and casual entrees.
Poe's Tavern: Great for a savory burger after a hot beach day.
Home Team BBQ: A casual joint perfect for getting some hearty food. Be sure to try out their frozen drinks!

DINNER:
The Longboard: Sullivan's more upscale restaurant with seafood favorites.
The Obstinate Daughter: A highly-acclaimed Italian restaurant.

Best Party Spots IOP:
The Windjammer: a casual Charleston staple for outdoor concerts and general beach partying.

SHEM CREEK
Overlooking the Creek and some of the Charleston Harbor, Shem Creek is a great place to catch some rays while getting room or drinks.

FOOD RECS:
CASUAL:
Red's Ice House: A Shem Creek staple. Great for casual eats or chill drinks with a lively vibe.

LESS CASUAL:
Saltwater Cowboys: If you've watched Southern Charm, you've seen Saltwater Cowboys. A fun place to grab drinks and perhaps some food.
Tavern & Table: Your best best on Shem Creek to get a table for large groups.
BOATING AND OUTDOOR ACTIVITY RECS:
To catch a boat ride from Mount Pleasant, check out: Captain Cocktail Cruises.
For the outdoorsy Bride, consider renting kayaks out of Shem Creek.

ACTIVITIES THAT COME TO YOU:
To save yourself some burnout (and your wallet on Ubers) consider having experiences come to you.
EXPERIENCE RECS:
Hibachi Chef Experience: Get the night going with a lively (and tasty) Hibachi Chef experience.
Candle Class: Great for relaxed mornings or chill evenings, Martini Candle Company brings candle classes to you.
Yoga: Sweat out the hangover and find your Zen at home with Bride Vibe Yoga.
Save time and $$ with experiences that COME TO YOU.
